Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiology (IR) refers to different services that use MRI, Ultrasound and other forms of imaging to guide doctors during surgery and other procedures. This lets us diagnose, treat and cure many kinds of diseases and conditions.

Interventional Radiology technology with staff memberBecause radiology lets us see inside the body, IR procedures can be done using tiny incisions. This is "minimally invasive", meaning that you can recover faster than other kinds of surgery, with less pain.

At Cambridge Health Alliance, our interventional radiologists are highly trained. They use the latest imaging technology and techniques at both Cambridge and Everett hospitals.
