Kinga
Powers, MD, PhD, Minimally Invasive Surgeon
Dr.
Powers is our newest General Surgeon who will be working primarily
at our CHA Whidden hospital campus. She earned her medical degree
from Queens University and completed surgical training, as well
as a PhD in Molecular Biology, at the University of Toronto. She
then came to the United States to completed an advanced fellowship
in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Her clinical practice at CHA is in general surgery and minimally
invasive surgery with special interests in endocrine surgery and
surgical oncology.
In
addition to seeing patients at CHA, Dr. Powers continues to be involved
in several research projects in affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess
Medical Center. Her area of study is simulation training of surgeons

Louis
Liou, MD, Urologist
Dr.
Liou is a urologist who comes to us from Boston Medical Center.
He is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine who completed
his residency and Urology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr.
Liou is board certified in Urology and will see patients at all
three hospital campuses.

Nayomi
Edirisinghe, MD, Breast Surgeon
Dr.
Edirisinghe is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine
who completed her residency in General Surgery at Tufts-New England
Medical Center. She recently completed a Breast Surgery fellowship
in our Cambridge Breast Center. Dr. Edirisinghe has expanded the
Cambridge Breast Center model to Whidden, and is now seeing patients
at the Whidden campus.

Blake
Cady, MD, Breast Surgery
Cambridge
Health Alliance is pleased to announce that Blake Cady, MD, a distinguished
breast cancer surgeon, has joined the staff of its Cambridge Breast
Center and Department of Surgery. He will see patients both the
Cambridge campus and the Breast Center satellite office at the CHA
Whidden campus in Everett, MA.
Dr.
Cady is a graduate of Amherst College and Cornell University Medical
College. He has worked at the Lahey Clinic and New England Deaconess
Hospital and has served as Director of the Breast Center at both
Women and Infants Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital, in Providence,
RI.
Dr.
Cady is known nationally as a leader in the field of Breast Health.
Over the course of his career, he has served as president of the
New England Cancer Society, the New England Surgical Society, The
Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Association of Endocrine
Surgeons, The Boston Surgical Society and the Massachusetts Division
of the American Cancer Society. He also served for eight years on
the national board of the American Cancer Society.
Over
his career, Dr. Cady has received many awards for his efforts including
the Annual Distinguished Service Award of the American Cancer Society,
the annual Heritage Award of the Society of Surgical Oncology, the
Annual Inspiration Award of the National Consortium of Breast Centers,
The Annual Cancer Lecture from the Commission on Cancer of the American
College of Surgeons, the annual Hayes Martin Lectureship of the
Society of Head and Neck Surgeons, as well as the Lemuel Shattuck
Medal of the Massachusetts Public Health Association and the Henry
Chadwick Medal of the Massachusetts Thoracic Society, the latter
two for his efforts in tobacco control in Massachusetts. He is also
the author of over 300 articles, book chapters, commentaries and
editorials on surgery and oncology.
