Schwartz
Center Rounds
Cambridge Health
Alliance is proud to participate in the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center
Rounds. These monthly events bring staff together and allow
them to discuss difficult emotional and social issues that arise
in caring for patients.
An analysis
of the rounds at other hospitals found many benefits, including
improving communication both among caregivers and between caregivers
and patients. Our goal at CHA is to give staff a forum and a support
system, to help them gain greater insight into their work, and to
help all our staff better connect with patients and families.

Humanism
in Medicine
In 2003, Cambridge
Health Alliance was chosen by the Arnold Gold Foundation as
the only Massachusetts participant in the Building Caring Hospital
Communities Project. The mission of the Gold Foundation is to foster
humanism in medicine, and this project supported its efforts to
build hospital environments that are caring and humane for patients
and staff alike.
Over the years,
many CHA staff have been recognized for their commitment to our
patients and our communities. Awards received include the Harvard
Medical School Community Excellence Award, numerous teaching awards,
and the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, given by the Arnold
Gold Foundation. To learn more about the Gold Foundation's efforts,

their website.
