Surgeon Kinga Powers, MD, PhD, Joins Cambridge Health Alliance
Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Revere, Somerville,
Winthrop, MA...Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) announced today
that general surgeon Kinga Powers, MD, PhD, has joined its Department
of Surgery. Dr. Powers will see patients primarily at CHA's Whidden
hospital campus in Everett.
Dr. Powers' clinical practice at CHA is in general surgery and
minimally invasive surgery, with special interests in endocrine
surgery and surgical oncology. She earned her medical degree from
Queen's University and completed surgical training, as well as a
doctorate in molecular biology, at the University of Toronto. She
came to the United States to complete an advanced fellowship in
minimally invasive surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
(BIDMC) in Boston, where she most recently served.
In addition to seeing patients at CHA, Dr. Powers will continue
to be involved in several research projects in affiliation with
BIDMC. Her area of study is simulation training of surgeons and
surgical teams. She is also an instructor in surgery at Harvard
Medical School.
