Cambridge Health Alliance CEO Dennis Keefe Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Advocacy Group Health Care For All

Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Revere, Somerville, Winthrop, MA...Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) announced today that Chief Executive Officer Dennis D. Keefe has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from health care advocacy group Health Care For All. Keefe was recognized for his efforts to improve access to medical care and accepted the award at Health Care For All’s 23rd annual “Celebration of Health Care Leaders,” held recently at the Westin Copley Place in Boston.

"We are honored to present Dennis Keefe with the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his 30 years of dedication to serving hard-to-reach populations in the healthcare system,” said John McDonough, Executive Director of Health Care For All. “We value working with Dennis and Cambridge Health Alliance on key consumer health issues."

Dennis D. Keefe is Chief Executive Officer of Cambridge Health Alliance and the Commissioner of Public Health for the City of Cambridge. Keefe has worked in academic teaching facilities and community hospitals for over 30 years. In 2000, he joined CHA, the last remaining public healthcare system in Massachusetts, and has demonstrated a strong commitment to deliver nationally recognized innovations in patient care and community-based health services to highly diverse, vulnerable patient populations. Keefe also serves on the executive committee of the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems, on the board of the National Public Health and Hospital Institute, and is an officer of the Massachusetts Hospital Association. He was honored as the 2005 Alumnus of the Year by Northeastern University.
