Infectious Disease Specialist Linda Shipton, MD, Joins Cambridge
Health Alliance
Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Revere, Somerville,
Winthrop, MA...Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) announced today that
infectious disease specialist Linda Shipton, MD, has joined the
staff at CHA's Whidden Hospital campus in Everett.
Treating patients with HIV, hepatitis, and tuberculosis (TB) is
Dr. Shipton's principal clinical interest. She brings to CHA a diverse
background in community service and cultural medicine, including
a year working at two HIV clinics in Botswana. In addition to her
responsibilities at the Whidden Hospital campus, Dr. Shipton will
see patients at CHA's Zinberg and TB clinics, both based at the
Cambridge Hospital campus. She is also an instructor in medicine
at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Shipton is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia
School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency
training at Brown University and is board certified in internal
medicine. She comes to CHA from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
in Boston, where she most recently served as an HIV Clinical Fellow.
Cambridge Health Alliance, a regional healthcare system
with three hospitals and more than twenty primary care practices
throughout Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston’s metro-North
communities, is a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
It also includes the Cambridge Public Health Department, Physician’s
Organization (CHAPO), and Network Health, a managed Medicaid and
Commonwealth Care plan.
