NEWS FROM CAMBRIDGE HEALTH ALLIANCE

CAMBRIDGE HEALTH ALLIANCE NAMES NEW CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Revere, Somerville, Winthrop, MA….Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is pleased to announce the selection of Allison Bayer as the new Senior Vice President for Operations and Chief Operating Officer. Bayer previously served at the Senior Director for Information Technology applications and education for CHA.

Bayer was one of three finalists selected out of pool of fifty candidates identified through a national search. These top three candidates were then reviewed and interviewed by CHA’s internal search committee comprised of members of CHA’s Operations Council, Senior Leadership Team, and Network Leadership Council.

“Allison clearly stood out as the top candidate out of the three finalists, based on both the feedback that I received from all of the interviewers and on the references that I received,” said CHA Chief Executive Office Dennis D. Keefe. “Allison's working knowledge of Cambridge Health Alliance further bolsters her ability to ‘hit the ground running,’ and to fill a much needed position within the leadership team to help move CHA to an even stronger position for the future.”

Bayer has over 25 years of experience in healthcare operations and management, as well as in healthcare technology. Prior to joining CHA in 2002, she served as the Director of Health Information Technology for John Snow, Inc., a public health consulting organization. Bayer has also held the position of Vice President of Clinical Operations at Boston Medical Center where she was a leader in the consolidation and integration of the University Hospital and Boston City Hospital merger. She has served in key positions directing the areas of internal medicine, ambulatory care, surgery, emergency services, diagnostic services including laboratory and radiology, and all medical specialty services such as Gastroenterology/ Endoscopy and interventional cardiology. Her previous experience includes: Director of Clinical Operations at University Hospital, Director of Ambulatory Operations at Lahey Clinic Medical Center, and Administrative Manager for the Department of Medicine at Tufts-New England Medical Center.

Bayer received her Masters of Business Administration with concentration in Health Care Management in 1985 from Boston University (BU). She returned to BU and received a Master of Science in Management Information Systems in 1999. Bayer is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and the Pomfret School in Pomfret, Connecticut.
