Dr. Gerald Steinberg
is Chief Medical Quality Officer and the Senior Medical Director
for Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA). In this capacity, Dr. Steinberg
provides physician leadership for clinical operations and leads
the organization’s medical quality programs, committed to the improvement
and redesign of clinical processes and systems, in order to provide
high quality care and programs to patients, physicians, affiliates
and payers.
Prior to joining
the Alliance in 2005, Dr. Steinberg served as Senior Vice President
and Chief Quality Officer of UMass Memorial Health Care. Prior to
that he served as interim Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics
of the University of Massachusetts Medical School and as the Chief
Medical Officer of UMass Memorial Health Care, providing medical
leadership for the development and operation of the health care
system. Dr Steinberg was appointed the Feigenbaum Distinguished
Professor of Quality at the University of Massachusetts Medical
School.
Dr. Steinberg
is an AOA graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and
received his Bachelor’s Degree, Cum Laude from Rutgers University
where he was a Henry Rutgers Scholar.
He received his orthopedic training in the Harvard Combined Orthopedic
Program after completing
a Research Fellowship at Harvard.
